Introducing Scrapbooking
What is Scrapbooking?
It's a hobby that involves pasting all sorts of memorabilia into an album or special Scrapbook and then decorating the cover and the pages of the scrapbook. The scrapbook itself can often be a work of art though it can be something very simple and yet still have an impact and be very satisfying to produce.
The memorobilia might include photos, magazine articles and pictures and newspaper clippings but it could also include anything else that could be secured to a page and placed in the scrapbook. Items such as leaves and feathers could be used as decoration but they might also represent something memorable.
Scrapbooking enthusiasts are commonly known as "scrappers" and though it can be a solitary hobby they often get together for conventions to share their thoughts and ideas and their passion for their hobby.
Those scrapbooking conventions are, for some, what keeps them going as it can be a lonely hobby working at home in your workroom or on the kitchen table. If you find yourself feeling a bit jaded and lacking in ideas then hopefully our site will help. You might also like to get connected with some of your local scrappers through visiting forums. Always remember that unless you are producing scrapbooks for a living, which some people do, then what matters is that YOU enjoy producing it and YOU are proud of your work. This isn't a hobby that demands others think your work is wonderful. The only scrapbooker who really matters is you. Scrapbooking is a hobby. It's something you do for yourself and for the satisfaction and pleasure it gives you.
